Samsung's new update has just been released on the Samsung Galaxy S20 in Korea. The update comes with a July 1 security patch from Google - which is quite surprising when you consider that Samsung is usually one of the worst when it comes to getting updates on time.
Note that the Samsung Galaxy S20 update is usually used on all three devices simultaneously. With different device variants, e.g. For example, the brand-operator version and the unlocked version, updates are usually updated at different times.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Recieve Firmware Update
This update has a module number G98*NKSU1ATFD and weighs more than 435MB. This brings new camera updates and a list of changes mentioning the quality of updated images in digitally enlarged images and improved video stabilization. The voice recorder application can now record audio from a microphone on a Bluetooth device.
With this OTA, Samsung has ended official support for Android's alternative automatic MirrorLink. Users can continue to use MirrorLink as before, but it won't be updated anymore. It shouldn't be long before other markets get the same update.
Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra updates
- Current stable version: Android 10
- When will the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra global models get Android 11?: December 2020 (estimated)
The update includes security patches for Android in July 2020. This means that this is the month that Samsung's flagships will hit pixel phones when they receive updates. In addition to patches, there are several new features, e.g. Using a Bluetooth microphone when using the voice recording application.
Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy S20 update also permanently removed the MirrorLink function. This is not a popular feature, but if you rely on it, don't worry: it stays active on your device until you restart from the factory or upgrade to a new phone.
