Few days ago WhatsApp announced that the application with the same name for Android and iOS will be dark. Updates with this feature will be available on both platforms in a few days.
WhatsApp has been testing dark mode for months and today marks the time when the function is no longer only available for beta testers. Everyone must get it immediately.
Understandably, this is the most desirable new feature for Facebook’s own service. It’s a bit confusing so it took a long time, especially when Google and Apple released a new mobile version last year which had a really dark theme.
Unfortunately finally here. WhatsApp’s dark mode is designed to “reduce eye strain in low light” and “prevent uncomfortable moments when your phone lights the room.”
The focus is readability, so the color palette is chosen to reduce eye fatigue and use features that are “closer to the system default settings for iPhone and Android.” Colors and other design elements are also used to ensure that the most important information is highlighted.
On Apple devices, you only get dark mode if you are using iOS 13. On Android, WhatsApp follows the example when you use Android 10 and set the system theme in the dark. On Android 9 Pie and earlier operating system versions, you can only manually activate the dark mode for WhatsApp in settings.
How To Apply Dark Mode On WhatsApp
Users on Android 10 and iOS 13 can use dark mode by enabling it in system settings. Users on Android 9 and below.
Goto WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Theme > select ‘Dark’.
We hope everyone enjoys dark mode, which is rolling out in the coming days on the latest version of WhatsApp.
