Apple is expected to unveil three new iPhone models, a 5.8-inch OLED, 6.1-inch LCD, and 6.5-inch OLED on September 12. With less than a month to go for the launch, new reports regarding the still unannounced 6.1-inch LCD budget iPhone has cropped up.
iOS developer and 9to5Mac reporter Guilherme Rambo, spotted a reference to an unreleased budget iPhone in Apple’s new suite of development tools, Xcode 10, on Tuesday.
The snippet code has references to an “iPhone xx” in the Xcode 10 thinning options with its model identifier being “iPhone9,7”. This device, which is internally called LCP with the model number N84 could be the “low-cost iPhone”.

What is more interesting is that this ‘iPhone 9,7’ is expected to run Apple’s A10 Fusion processor, which was launched originally on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It is also expected to feature a DCI-P3 LCD panel.

Also, the references made to the budget iPhone variant in Apple’s Xcode software suggest that the device could succeed iPhone SE, which was announced in 2016. This means that it is possible that the smartphone could be likely called ‘iPhone SE2’.
Further, this ‘iPhone 9,7’ 6.1-inch budget LCD iPhone is expected to feature Face ID, 3GB of RAM, a single camera set-up at the rear, and a bezel-less design similar to other iPhones. The handset is also expected to sport dual-SIM functionality and may come in a variety of colors. This budget-friendly device is expected to cost around $699.

The Oppo R17 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED bezel-less display and 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Oppo claims that the device has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 per cent, thanks to the waterdrop-style notch. Further, the top of the display is protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 6 from Corning.
Processor and storage
The Oppo R17 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC (Dual 2.2GHz Kryo 360 + Hexa 1.7GHz Kryo 360 CPUs) with Adreno 616 GPU. On the memory front, it comes with 8GB of RAM and a massive 128GB of internal storage. However, there is no support for microSD expansion. The device runs on ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo).

The Oppo R17 Pro packs a 25MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture on the notch, which should work pretty well for selfies, along with Oppo’s camera AI (Artificial Intelligence).
The triple rear camera set-up at the rear is where the USP of Oppo R17 Pro lies. The device packs in a 12MP + 20MP + TOF (Time of Flight) 3D stereo camera. The primary 12MP rear camera comes with a variable aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4) that switches depending on the light, PDAF and dual pixel. Then there is a 20MP secondary sensor which comes with aperture of f/2.6 that helps in capturing depth in portrait shots.
The third sensor is a Time of Flight (TOF) 3D Sensing camera that enables to capture 3D pictures.
In-display fingerprint sensor

Another USP feature of Oppo R17 Pro is the in-display fingerprint sensor. According to Oppo, the R17 Pro’s fingerprint sensor can unlock the smartphone in just 0.41 seconds.
SuperVOOC fast charging
Another interesting feature of Oppo R17 Pro is the support for company’s homegrown SuperVOOC fast charging technology, that was introduced with the Find X Lamborghini Edition earlier this year.
Further, the 50W SuperVOOC charger provided with the Oppo R17 Pro can charge 40 percent in just 10 minutes.
The 3,700mAh battery on the smartphone has been divided into two halves measuring 1,850mAh each, which will end the battery charging woes.
Connectivity and other features
The connectivity options on Oppo R17 Pro include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, GPS/ A-GPS, and NFC support. Other features include dual SIM card slots, while sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light, and a proximity sensor. Oppo R17 Pro measures 157.6×74.6×7.9 mm and weighs 183 grams.

The Oppo R17 will be available at a cost price of CNY 4,299 in China. Oppo R17 Pro will be available in the country from mid-October later this year. The smartphone will be available in ‘Fog gradient’ color option. Currently, there’s no official information on when the Oppo R17 Pro will be rolled out globally or in India.

The Popularly known tech giant Apple later this year came to the market for devices with wireless charging technology.

There’s still more to do with wireless charging
The Cupertino company, of course, I am talking about the tech giant Apple is expected to announce at least three new iPhones next month, and one of them may be about to use this new coil for charging faster wirelessly, according to the China Times report.

Moreover, the well-known media source, AppleInsider notes that FPC coils are used by the Cupertino company, of course, I am talking about the tech giant Apple at least in part because they’re thinner than copper coils, yes, it clearly means that the tech giant Apple might have to slightly increase the thickness of the iPhone X sequel simply in order to include the new coil.

Information indicates that one of the iPhones will switch from an FPC, or composite of ferrite polymer, to a copper wire, in order to allow for faster and more efficient wireless charging.

The information states that moving away from the finer FPC coils to a thicker coil of copper would mean that wireless charging could deliver faster results without overheating the device.

However, the difference in thickness between the two solutions would require that the iPhone may also get thicker as we told earlier or perhaps the rest of its internal parts would be smaller, to occupy less area.

“As the high power and high efficiency are the trends of wireless charging, it is expected that at least one of the three iPhones in 2018 will leave the FPC to adopt a copper coil solution to achieve the stated goal due to the small resistance of the coil of copper wire. It may also compensate for the thermal effects generated by the power increase.”

While users would need a more powerful Qi charger to take advantage of the switch to a copper wire coil, the theory is that increasing the loading speed could be significant without the iPhone itself becoming too hot, something that is a concern, currently.

If this new charging solution is configured to reach just one of the three iPhones, it stands to reason that the larger and more expensive iPhone X Plus would be the only one to take advantage of this.

The extra size also enables the Cupertino company, of course, I am talking about the tech giant Apple to reconfigure the internal components of the device in an attempt to compensate for the additional space required by the new copper component.

Researchers from Stanford measured the algorithm using a benchmark called DAWNBench that uses a common image classification task to track the speed of a deep-learning algorithm per dollar of compute power. According to the benchmark, the researchers found that the algorithm built by’s team had beaten Google’s code. consists of part-time students who are eager to try out machine learning and convert it into a career in data science. It rents access to computers in Amazon’s cloud. In fact, it is important that a small organization like succeed, as it is always thought that only those who have huge resources can do advanced AI research.

The previous rankings were topped by Google’s researchers in a category for training on several machines, using a custom-built collection by its own chips designed specifically for machine learning. The team was able to deliver something even faster, on more or less equivalent hardware.

“State-of-the-art results are not the exclusive domain of big companies,” says Jeremy Howard, one of’s founders and a prominent AI entrepreneur. Howard and his co-founder, Rachel Thomas, created to make AI more accessible and less exclusive.

Howard’s team have competed with the likes of Google by doing a lot of simple things, such as ensuring that the images fed to its training algorithm were cropped correctly. Recently, a collaborator at the Pentagon’s new Defense Innovation Unit developed the code needed to run the learning algorithm on several machines, to help the military work with AI and machine learning.

Although the work of is remarkable, huge amounts of data and significant compute resources are still important for several AI tasks, notes Matei Zaharia, a professor at Stanford University and one of the creators of DAWNBench.

The algorithm used 16 Amazon Web Service (AWS) instances and was trained on the ImageNet database in 18 minutes, at a total computer cost of around $40. While this is about 40 percent better than Google’s effort, the comparison is tricky considering the hardware used was different, Howard claims.

Jack Clark, director of communications and policy at OpenAI, a nonprofit, says has produced valuable work in other areas such as language understanding. “Things like this benefits everyone because they increase the basic familiarity of people with AI technology,” Clark says.

 On the HDR Mode, the camera was able to capture more detailed images and there’s also an improvement in dynamic range. The front camera also comes with slight improvements in the edge detection and it now captures more details. Well, on the battery front of view, the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB dominates with its 5,000mAh battery.

Well, ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB is for those who are on a tight budget. Since the phone is very budget friendly, it comes with few drawbacks. The phone doesn’t have USB Type-C support which is really disappointing. The phone’s camera is also not up to the mark. But, considering the price tag of Rs 15,000 for the 6GB variant, these cons can be digested.

But, ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB is by far the best budget Android phone which is available under Rs. 15,000. The phone is already available on Flipkart, but it went out of stock in a few minutes and will be available again shortly.
