The role of Chinese manufacturers has grown a lot in the global market greatly. While in China China-based companies increased in sales pushing out a lot of major brands from the regional market. This has made a big issue for a lot of big manufacturers including Samsung. While they got heavy competition from Chinese brands in the global market, they found it hard to survive in the Chinese market. The sale of Samsung has gone even below 1% in the Chinese smartphone market. But competing with the Chinese manufacturers who provide great value for money is not possible. So the Korean-based smartphone manufacturer seems to have found a new way to survive and this is rolling out updates.

As the new flagships are launched by Samsung which gets Android Oreo out of the box, the previous flagships where expecting an update. Most of the other regions have received the Oreo updates long back. For some reasons the Chinese users where kept on a long wait. Samsung has finally started rolling out Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in China. This seems to be a clever idea as the Chinese smartphone manufacturers are not into providing latest Android versions on their devices. But these same brands do give occasional updates to add new features and remove bugs. So Samsung to make the move a success, have to think about similar updates too.

As the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have received the updates, other premium devices are also expected o get the update soon. We can most probably see similar updates arriving for Galaxy Note 8 too. The current update is an Android 8.0 Oreo update and not the latest version of 8.1 Oreo. The Samsung experience is also updated to version 9.0 with the update. The update comes with a build number G9550ZCU2CRD4.
